More than 300 friends and donors participated in the 2024 Cubano Golf Classic. The event supporting Tony’s Burgers and Beverages and the Golf Classic raised more than $72,000 for The Fire Foundation of Colorado Springs. “We are so thankful to those that generously contribute to our city’s heroes,” said Cubano Founder Rene Mondejar III.
The Cubano was founded to honor Mondejar’s father, a Cuban immigrant who came to America, served in the U.S. Military - including at D-Day and Okinawa - and appreciated good friends, good food, good music and golf.
“Honoring firefighters and supporting their equipment needs is the most important outcome of the Cubano and we can’t thank our longtime sponsors and donors enough,” said Mondejar.
To sponsor the 25th Anniversary Cubano events in Sept. 2025 to benefit the Fire Foundation of Colorado Springs, please contact Rene Mondejar or Charlie Huebner.

Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson Fundraiser
Pikes Peak Harley-Davidson hosted a fundraiser for the Fire Foundation of Colorado Springs, and raised more than $3,000. Several Foundation board members served hundreds of hot dogs, brats and hamburgers to very generous Harley-Davidson customers and visitors. The afternoon's greatest surprise occurred when one very charitable gentleman, the owner of Extravagant Images (he preferred not to be named), donated $2,000. This generous donation helped the Foundation fund a tactical vest package purchase for a Colorado Springs firefighter. The Foundation also thanks 719 Heroes for its support during the event.
